Quantum Mechanics on Fractals
Since the introduction by Kigami of a Laplacian on a class of fractals that include the Sierpinski Gasket, analysis on fractals has been fast developing. For instance, the spectrum of the fractal-Laplacian was described by Fukushima and Shima using the spectral decimation method that can be traced back to the work of Rammal and Toulouse.
In this talk, I shall present recent results on the asymptotic behavior of the spectra of certain Schrodinger equations on the Sierpinski gasket. Additionally, and if time permits, I shall formulate some uncertainty principles for functions defined on fractals.
Refreshments will be served at 3:40pm
